Youth Leadership Camp 101
Registration for 101 will OPEN in September 2025
YLC 101 is a foundational level of the leadership program. Many professional and community leaders will share their leadership insights from their leadership journey during the camp. Through interactive workshops the youth will be taken through situational leadership.
This is a three day camp conducted for youth from age 14-21 during a long weekend in the month of May. This camp has been held successfully every year from 2014 and was instrumental in changing the perspective of many young leaders.
The camp is a fully residential program which includes many team building exercises, practical projects, interaction with motivational leaders and lot of games.
The invited speakers are from various professionals and youth leaders.
The youth will be led through different leadership skills like BCSLC & CLSC, and many more by additional speakers including MP's, MLA's, Doctors and even YLSBC’s alumni.
The Experience
The Camping Experience
The camp is situated in a serene location at Fort Langley campground, far from the busy and loud cities. It is surrounded by beautiful nature including trails, water bodies and other attractions.
Students will be getting a complete camping experience as they will be learning how to set up tents, other survival skills required for camping and will be living in the tents set up by them. Through the nature hike they will get a better understanding of the ecosystem we live in and thus gain respect for the environment.
The Leadership Experience
The new leaders will learn about the various types of leadership as well as the type of leaders they are. They will also receive a deeper understanding of the various stages of leadership they can get involved with in their community, their city, their province and their country. We will have speakers from all the levels of leadership and people from all walks of life as speakers.
Through a weekend long practical team project the participants would learn to apply leadership education, teamwork and creative thinking to complete a project and present effectively.
Dislaimer: We will have different leaders coming to talk to the students so we cannot assure a certain amount of topics covered.
